Theresa Jo Duke was a caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She left this world on October 1, 2021 at Texoma Medical Center surrounded by some of her closest family.
Theresa was born January 1, 1956, daughter of Johnie Earl Johnson and Juanita "Nita" Leonard in Lubbock, Texas.  She married her first husband in 1972 and had 3 boys: Ronnie, Edward and Timmiy Joe.  She married her current husband, James Duke, in 1990.
Theresa spent 17 years working at Pate Rehabilitation, a job she loved dearly.  She enjoyed spending time with her Mom, kids, grandkids, and the rest of her family that was close to her.  She also loved to take vacations with her Mom, who she was very close to.  Theresa took pride in hosting holiday dinners and bringing her family together. She spent her weekends going to her grandson, Kayden's, sporting events and taking her granddaughter, Lanie, to do fun things.   She also enjoyed spending time at the lake with her son, Ronnie and his family and spending time and helping her son, Edward and family.
Theresa is preceded in death by her father; son, Timmy Joe; and grandson, Casey Lowery.
Theresa is survived by her mother, of the home; her husband, James, of the home; brothers, Donny and wife, Debbie; Terry and Steven; Brian and wife, Kathy; sister, Brenda and husband, Scott; sons, Ronnie and wife, Ruthie; and Edward and wife, Diana; special daughter, Crystal and husband, Jason; granddaughter, Rachel and boyfriend, Joe; grandson, Jedediah and wife, Alicia; granddaughter, Trisha and husband, Caleb; grandson, Kayden; granddaughters, Lanie and Serenity as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
A graveside service was held Wednesday morning, October 6, 2021 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Sherman, Texas. Pallbearers were Jedediah Griffin, Kayden Lowery, Johnny Johnson, Jason Harris-Murphy, Joe Walters, and Justin Williams.
