Frank H. "Tubby" Dickerman, 94, of Sherman passed away peacefully Friday, October 17, 2008 at his home with his wife, Marjorie, and family by his side.
Services were held Monday afternoon, October 20, 2008 in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.  Rev. Billy Vier, Tex Monk, and Rev. Don Dickerman officiated.  Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
Tubby was born April 5, 1914 at Sherman, son of Augustus Scott and Samantha Stanley Dickerman.  He was the grandson of G.A. Dickerman, one of the early settlers in Sherman who arrived on the 21st day of February 1852 when there was only a log house for a court house.  He served 3 consecutive terms as County Clerk without opposition.
Tubby was a graduate of Sherman High School and was employed at Anderson Clayton Foods (originally Mrs. Tucker's Foods) for 43 years, spending most of his time in finished products.  Tubby married Marjorie Sloan on May 3, 1941 at the First Baptist Church in McAlester, Oklahoma with Rev. John B. Corckette officiating and Francis L. Sloan and wife, Mary Ann, as attendants.  Tubby and Marjorie did not have children but had nieces and nephews they loved early.  He would sit around and hum "Amazing Gace," his favorite hymn.  After retirement they moved to Preston Peninsula where he liked to fish and do gardening work.  He loved working in the soil and took great pride in growing produce and sharing it with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years; and many friends and family.
Pallbearers were David Dennard, Doug Sloan, Jr., Billy Bob Sloan, Doc Davis and Don Sloan.  Honorary pallbearers were Steve Sexton, Sonny Spears, Johnny Mac Moseley and David Salmon.
