Services for Mildred Cantrell, 92 year-old Sherman resident who passed away at her home Sunday evening, March 9, 2008, were held Wednesday afternoon, March 12, 2008 in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Ron Cantrell of Grand Saline, Mrs. Cantrell's former pastor at North Park Baptist Church, officiated and the burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. 

Mildred was born January 12, 1916 in Rhome, Wise County, Texas, daughter of Harvey Lee Guy and Daisy Agnew Guy. Following graduation from high school she had been employed as a receptionist at a dentist office and married Jack Cantrell February 14, 1951 in Denison, Texas. She had been a resident of Sherman for 31 years and a member of North Park Baptist Church.

She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Lonnie Jo Guy and Betty Guy of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 2 nieces, Bernice Davis of Bokchito, Oklahoma, and Gail Ann Terrell and husband, Larry, of Spanish Fort, Alabama; 4 nephews, Robert Don Guy and wife, Jo Ann of Denison; Emmett Dale Hudgins and wife, Charlotte, of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Mike Guy of Tulsa; and Don Guy of Bixby, Oklahoma; cousin, Genoa Ford; and sister-in-law, Peyton Guy of Denison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Cantrell, on March 13, 1998; her parents; a brother, Albert Guy; and 2 sisters, Lucille Hudgins and Agnes Davis.
