Denison - J.C. Cherry, former resident of Borger, died Thursday, June 8, 1978 in Denison, Texas following a lengthy illness.
Services were held Saturday morning in the Johnson-Moore Funeral Home in Denison.   Military graveside services were held at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, directed by Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
Mr. Cherry was a former resident of Borger; he had lived in Denison since 1944.
He was retired from the chemical division of Phillips Petroleum Co. in Denison and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the VFW and the DAV.
Survivng are his wife; two brothers; a sister; and one grandson.


Mrs. Cherry was born in Grayson County, Texas, daughter of Wilton and Effie Watson.  She died at her home in Denison, Texas.
On February 2, 1936, she rmarried Joseph Cagle Cherry in Durant, Oklahoma, who preceded her in death.
She worked for Pillsbury for 6 years and Newberry's in Denison until her retirement. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Daugherty of Denison; and grandson, Sean Daugherty of Dallas, Texas.
Graveside services were conducted by Rev. Greg Smith.  Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Bratcher Funeral Home, Denison, Texas. - - - Bratcher Funeral Home
