W.W. Collier Dies Suddenly at Depot
William W. Collier, 62, a car inspector for the Katy, died suddenly at the Katy depot at 8:10 a.m. Sunday while at work.
Funeral services were held at the Bratcher-Moore chapel  Tuesday with Rev. Tate Young of Sherman officiating.  Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.  Pallbearers were Johnny Higgins, Arthur Franks, Paul Guess, Gene Kennedy, L.E. Brigham and C.A. Robertson.
Collier, a former resident of Waxahachie, lived at 420 West Chestnut.  He married Miss Bertha Kohl in Denison in 1936.  He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.  He had worked for the Katy for 28 years.
Survivors include his wife; three brothers, J.E. of Waxahachie; and T.W. and J.M. Dallas; and three sisters, Mrs. Mamie Ham, Mrs. Fred Willig and Mrs. Milton Rogers, all of Waxahachie.

MONDAY BURIAL SET FOR FORMER TEACHER
Mrs. Bertha Kohl Collier, 71, former Denison school teacher, died Saturday at 7:35 a.m. in a local hospital after a long illness.
Funeral was held Monday in St. Luke's Episcopal Church with Rev. David A. Jones, rector, officiating.  Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park under direction of Bratcher Funeral Home.  Pallbearers were Monroe Drew, Ed Woyewodzic, Raymond Ridge, Fred Hahnel, William Overbeck, earl Whiteacre, W.E. Winfree and W.L. Regensburger.
Born Bertha Kohl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kohl, in Denison, September 4, 1891, she attended Denison schools and Denton Teachers College.  In October 1936 she married William W. Collier, Katy Railroad car inspector who died in 1952.  Mrs. Collier taught at Lamar, Houston, Central, and the old Denison High Schools.  She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, St. Luke's Guild, Denison Garden Club, and Sons of Hermann Lodge.
Survivors include two brothers, E.H. and Felix Kohl, both of Muskogee; and two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Ridge and Mrs. Erna Wilson, both of Denison.
