DENISON - Laura C. Ford Carter of Denison, 90-year-old retired licensed vocational nurse, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009 at the Homestead of Denison.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 23 at Johnson-Moore Chapel with Rev. Earl Oglesbee officiating. Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Crump was born in Van Alstyne, Texas on May 17, 1919, daughter of Joseph and Margaret S. Shaw Allmon and attended school in Van Alstyne.
She married Jack Lee Carter on July 18, 1938 in Grayson County, Texas and he preceded her in death in 1952. She married George Virgil Ford on November 20, 1957 in Bryan County, Oklahoma and he died July 18, 1986.  She retired from the MKT Hospital where she was an LVN. She was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Denison.
Pallbearers were Aaron Dusek, Brad Hamner, Dylan Hamner, Darrell Hamner, Gary Woodrum and David Jernigan.
Surviving are her son, Jack L. Carter and wife, Mary, of Denison; daughter, Vickie Holt and husband, James, of Denison; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Lee Carter and G.V.Ford; daughter, Linda Wright; one brother and two sisters.
