DENISON - Funeral services for Billie Gail Cone were held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 26 at Waldo Funeral Home. Rev. Tom W. Richardson, Jr. officiateed. Entombment was held in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers were David Lynch, Jerry Perkins, Mark Allen, Randy Kester, Monty Gentry, and Kevin "Bubba" Bentley. As the funeral procession left for the cemetery, the hearse was preceded by the many friends and associates of Gail riding their motorcycles in her honor. Mrs. Cone passed away Friday, January 23 at Texoma Medical Center at the age of 74.
Gail was born on February 1, 1934 in Durant, Oklahoma. to the late William Clyde and Leona Gail (Osborne) Moore. She attended school in Denison and married Harry Cone on December 31, 1950 in Sherman. Harry and Gail enjoyed 53 years of marriage and worked side by side as the owners of Cone's Motorcycle Shop in Sherman. They began as a dealer of Indian Motorcycles as well as other brands over the years. They were Yamaha dealers for 43 years. Gail continued in the motorcycle business even after Harry's death on June 13, 2003. She was a lifetime member of the Antique Motorcycle Club.
Gail is survived by sons, Mike Cone and wife Cathy of Bells; and Johnny Cone and wife Janis of Sherman; two daughters, Sandi Skidmore and husband Kenny of Sherman; and Jackie Kirby and her companion Danny Bruton of Luella; two grandchildren that Harry and Gail raised as their own children, Myranda and Jason Kirby; five additional grandchildren, Melissa Cone, LeeAnn Cone, John Cone, Mike Cone Jr., and Travis Nobles; stepgrandchildren, Chad Davis and Mandi Adkins; Craig, Wesley and Kinlea Skidmore, all of Nebraska; eight great-grandchildren, Brayln Kirby, Amiah Dehorney, Devon Rogers, Zaylyn Rogers, Tyler Williams, Dylan Dehorney, Landen Cone, and Kyra Jacobs; stepgreat-grandchildren, Kaylee Davis and Luke, Julia, Alex, Owen, Hunter Josh, Alex, Chloe, Autumn, Derrick, Ty and Savanna, all of Nebraska; one brother, Buddy Moore of Sherman; sisters-in-law, Virginia Moore and Tabby Moore; and one faithful pet companion, CJ.
She was preceded by her parents, husband, two brothers, Jacky and Larry Moore; and one daughter-in-law, Delores Cone.
