Established 1948    Helen R. Cook 1925 - 2012 Myron E. Cook 1921 - 2011  The Herald Democrat August 9, 2012 Helen Ruth Martin was born on March 6, 1925 in Sherman and passed from this world on Monday, August 6, 2012 at the age of 87. At the time of her death, Helen was a resident of the Wellington Parke Assisted Living Community in Oklahoma City. Helen married Myron E. Cook in Denison and were together for more than 66 years, until his death on September 22, 2011. Helen enjoyed being the wife of an Air Force officer, following him not only throughout the United States, but also to Germany, France and Morocco. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and homemaker. She will be missed by all that knew her. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest Martin, Robert Martin, and Ray Martin; three sisters, Jane Martin Thurmond, Dorothy Martin, and Wanda Martin Weiser. Helen is survived by two daughters, Sandra Cook Dunaway and husband Jim, and Betty Cook; two granddaughters, Jaime Pavillard and Whitney Dunaway Zambrano and husband Daniel; three great-granddaughters, Breanna Nelson, Katie Gard, and Annaliese Zambrano; and one sister, Polly Martin Fuentes; and several nieces and nephews. Services to celebrate Helen's life were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Waldo Funeral Home chapel with Rev. David Murphy officiating. She was laid to rest at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
