Denison - Marilyn Maxine Houx Bradley, 96, of Denison, Texas, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at her home.  Mrs. Bradley had been a resident of Denison for the past 62 years.  She was born September 13, 1924 in Cherryvale, Kansas, daughter of Fred Houx and Ruby Bussert Houx.  She married Lon Ready Bradley, her husband of 44 years, on September 10, 1944 in Ft. Worth, Texas.  Marilyn and Lon raised their family at Parkside Baptist Church of Denison where she taught a Ladies' Sunday School Class for 60 years and was employed as a church administrative assistant for 33 years, before retiring in 1994.
Mrs. Bradley is survived by her son, Berry Bradley and wife, Jackie, of Orange, Texas; and daughter, Janis Bradley Bailey and husband, Jeff, of Bonham, Texas.  She was bless with 8 grandchildren, Barbie Bradley Chambers and husband, Todd, of Lubbock, Texas; Jeffrey Bradley and wife, Jenny, of El Paso, Texas; Aaron Bradley of Harlingen, Texas; Brandon Forguson and wife, Louisa, of Austin, Texas; Jonathan Bradley and wife, Angela, of  New Braunfels, Texas; Whitney Bailey of Dallas, Texas; Austin Bailey and wife, Caitlin, of Wylie, Texas; and Tyler Bailey of The Colony, Texas.
Additionally Mrs. Bradley was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren,  Emily and Macy Chambers of Lubbock, Texas; Anna Claire, Brynley and Brylen Forguson of El Paso, Texas; Savannah, Madison, and Mack Bradley of New Braunfels, Texas; and Colton Barrett and Ryker Forguson of Austin, Texas.  Mrs. Bradley is al so survived by a daughter-in-law, Beth Bradley, of Winters, Texas; 2 nieces, Lisa Houx of Nashville, Tennessee; and Martha Jo Campbell and husband, David, of Sherman, Texas; and nephew, Mickey Pierson and wife, Carole, of Sherman, Texas.
She was predeceased  by her husband; her firstborn son, David Ross in 2010; her parents; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Beverly Houx and Mack and Jo Willa Pierson.
A memorial service for Mrs. Bradley was held Saturday morning, May 22, 2021 at Parkside Baptist Churcxh with her son, Rev. Barry Bradley, officiating.  Interment followed at a later date at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkside Baptist Church in memory of Marilyn Bradley.
