MRS. SARAH BAKER
Services were held Saturday after at the Waldo Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Sarah Alice Baker, 71, of 511 Jones St., Howe, widow of the late John D. Baker.  She died unexpectedly at 4:45 p.m. Thursday at a Sherman hospital.  Services were conducted by Rev. Birdie Jones, pastor of the Dorchester Baptist Church, with burial at Cedarlawn Memorial Park under direction of the Waldo Funeral Home.
Mrs. Baker was born March 25, 1897, at Weston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson Davis Wilson.  She was married on October 18, 1914, at Elmont.  Mr. Baker died Novovember 10, 1965.  She had lived in the Dorchester community from 1931 until May of 1968, when she moved to Howe.  She was a member of the Weston Christian Church.
Survivors are one son, J.W. Baker of Garland; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Wilson of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Bill Webb of Sherman; 3 brothers, Tom Wilson and Bill Wilson, both of Tom Bean; and Jim Wilson of Dorchester; 5 sisters, Mrs. Jack Willard of Henderson; Miss Abbie Wilson, Mrs. Beulah Jordan, Mrs. Edgar Sledge and Mrs. Pearl Miller, all of Van Alstyne; 4 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Cody Shaw, Ernest Bennett, Frank Scott, Jack Clements, Vardaman Rutherford and W.A. Tucker.
