Talford  Rachel "Tal" Burge, 77, of Kingston, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at his home. 
He was born on October 9, 1936, son of Marvin Dillon Burge and Edith Marsh Burge in Woodville, Oklahoma.  Tal was raised in Woodville and Kingston and graduated from Kingston High School in 1955.  He later joined the United States Air Force, serving in North Africa.
Tal married Barbara Gail Boatman in Denison, Texas on August 30, 1977. 
Tal worked as a welder and lived in Texas, Colorado, California, Oregon and moved in 1977 to Sherman, Texas.  He also lived in Pottsboro, Texas for many years before spending the last 10 years in Kingston.   He was a member of  the Kingston Alumni Association.  Tal enjoyed any type of construction but most of all he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Burge of Kingston; his brother, Lester Burge of California; and his aunt, Ruby Joan Green of Texas.  He is also survived by many cousins, one son, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Thursday morning, August 21, 2014 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas.  James Boatman officiated the services.
Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma.


Barbara Boatman Burge was born August 31, 1939 in Sherman, Texas, daughter of Earnest and Myrtle Boatman, and was called home on Friday, December 9, 2022 at the age of 83.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Foy Lowe and Talford Burge; her oldest son, Donald Lowe; and her brother, Ralph Boatman.
She is survived by her son, Steven Lowe of Kingston, Oklahoma; brothers, Edward Boatman of Garland, Texas; James Boatman and wife, Jean, of Kilgore, Texas; sisters, LaJuan Durham and husband, Paul, of Irving, Texas; and Rachel Gregory of Erlanger, Kentucky; 6 grandkids; 10 great-grandkids; 12 nieces and nephews; and many friend and loved ones.
Barbara retired from Texas Instruments after 37 years.
