Glenda H. Burleson
1923 - 2017

Mornie "Jack" Burleson
1923 - 1975

Glenda H. Burleson was born Sunday, April 29, 1923 in Edhube, Texas, daughter of Joseph and Annie Scroggins Hollis.  She passed from this life on Thursday, July 13, 2017 in Sherman, Texas at the age of 94.
Glenda worked in the jewelry industry for the majority of her career. She lived a very long and happy life. She was known as "Grandma," "Me-Maw,", "Pearl" and for the 2 she cherished most, called her "Mom."  With Wanda behind the wheel, she enjoyed going on road trips to various places and really enjoyed those penny slots.  On Sundays you would most likely find her glued to the TV cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.  Then there was her coffee, no matter what meal it was, she had to have her coffee.  With a house full of clowns, she always had a big smile on her face.
Glenda had an eye for things that sparkled, which kept her in the jewelry business over 30 years.  Everywhere she went, she was dressed to the nines.  WIth her hair done just right and make-up flawless, she was ready to go.  Last, but most definitely not least, was her family.  They were always number 1 on her list, she was always there.   She will be greatly missed!
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Hollis "Skip" Burleson.
She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Mathis and son-in-law, Bobby; daughter-in-law, Sandra McKissack; grandchildren: Lee Mathis, Kristi Bayless-Urquhart and husband, Kris; Holly McKissack-Bowman and husband, Adrian; and Misti Mathis; great-grandchildren: Baylen and Brennan Bayless; Landry Urquhart; Carter and Parker Bowman; and Adam and Spencer Hendrick; and her best friend, Wanda Brown.
Services were held Monday afternoon, July 17, 2017 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Steve Rice officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Baylen Bayless, Brennan Bayless, Landry Urquhart, Lee Mathis, Carter Bowman, Parker Bowman, Adam Hendricks, Adrian Bowman, and Chris Urquhart.
