DENISON – Jean Bowling, 83, passed from this life to her heavenly home on March 21, 2012.  Born Jewel Jean Willoughby, September 13, 1928 in Denison, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J.E. Willoughby. She was a graduate of Denison High School, a Yellow Jacket cheerleader and Flag Bearer.

She married George "Corky" Bowling on December 16, 1951 and they recently celebrated their 60th year anniversary.
Jean retired from the Denison ISD in 1990 and will be most remembered by the students and parents as a loving and caring secretary at Mayes Elementary School, along with her sense of style, grace and friendliness. She was a member of Parkside Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning, March 24, 2012 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Chet Haney officiating. Burial was at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas.  Pallbearers were Tim Neal, Scott Barnhill, Steven Ashley, Steve Crane, Donald Schmidt and Taylor Willoughby.
Jean is survived by her husband. Corky Bowling; son Corky, Jr. and wife, Janie, of Duncanville, Texas; granddaughter Sr. Airman Janie Gutierrez, United States Air Force of Ogden, Utah; brother-in-law Jimmy and wife, Sue; also a number of loving nieces, nephews, including nieces Gina Neal and Lacie Brassfield, her loving care givers.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers J.C., Carrel, & Taylor Willoughby; 2 sisters, Anna Lee Barnhill and Mae Willoughby; and nephew Gene Barnhill.
Arrangements are entrusted to Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard St., Denison, Texas.
