Tuesday Services Set for Mrs. Black, 68

Mrs. Belle Black, mother of Dr. Davis F. Black, died July 14, 1974 in Stillwater Municipal Hospital.  She was a resident of 915 W. 4th.  A local funeral service was held Tuesday morning in the Strode Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Joe Stumbaugh officiated. 
Interment was in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas, after a service at Dannel Funeral Chapel, Sherman, Tuesday afternoon.   
The daughter of Willis F. and Ida Watts, she was born in Anson, Texas, December 6, 1905.  She was married to Walter V. Black, December 9, 1922 at Greenwood, Texas.
She was a member of Stillwater Chapter 54, Order of Eastern Star and had lived in Stillwater since 1962.  She was a former resident of Greenville and Newsom[e], Texas.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Black, 135 Orchard Lane; 2 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Aaron Watts of Dallas, Texas; Joe Watts of DeSoto, Texas; and Jack Watts of Ft. Worth, Texas; 4 sisters, Mrs. Grace Shaw of Campti, Louisiana; Mrs. Ruth Skinner of Winnsboro, Texas; and Linda and Sue Watts, both of Arlington, Texas.
Active pallbearers in the Stillwater service were Max Koener, Bryon Daniels, Paul Marshall, Joe Wyatt, Dr. Hugh McClure and Charles Rushmore.  Honorary pallbearers locally were Dr. Merle Wedel, Dr. Gary Meyer, Dr. James Locklar, Cushing, Dr. Sid Williams, Dr. Dan Wagner and Dr. Tim Smalley.
