Final rites were held at Van Alstyne Church of Christ Monday for 97-year-old James Campbell Andrews of Anna, who died in a Sherman hospital Friday night.  Douglas Bickenback and Grady Langford officiated.  Burial was at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman.  Flesher Funeral Home was in charge.
A native of Kentucky, he was married February 7, 1935 at Durant, Oklahoma to Miss Jessie Lane Bird.  He was a retired farmer and a member of the Van Alstyne Church of Christ.  
Mrs. Andrews honored her husband when he celebrated his 97th birthday at their home on SH5, just south of the Van Alstyne city limits, last Feb. 19.  Earlier in that day, first and second grade children from the Anna First Baptist Church (a Girls In Action group) serenaded him with songs.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Mrs. Frances McCormick of McKinney; sons, J.W. Andrews of Whitewright, Don Andrews of El Cajon, California, and Leslie L. Andrews of Sherman; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Anna - Jessie Lane Andrews, 91-year-old retired school teacher and artist of Anna, died Monday at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman.
Services were held Wednesday afternoon in Flesher Funeral Home in Van Alstyne.  Norman Ewell officiated, with burial in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Andrews was born in Lane, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius F. Bird.  She married James C. Andrews February 19, 1936, in Durant, Oklahoma. She was a Methodist.
Surviving are her stepdaughter, Frances McCormack of McKinney; stepsons, Leslie Andrews of Sherman and J.W. Andrews of Whitewright; sisters, Reva Smith and Mary McCoy, both of Sherman; Martha Atkinson of Denison; and Mattie Lois Peterson of McHenry, Illinois; and brothers, Claude Bird of Sherman and Eugene Bird of Dallas.
