Established 1948   B.J. Ayres 10 February 1928 - 3 May 1976 Wednesday, May 5, 1976 Services were held Thursday afternoon in the North Park Baptist Church for Bobby Joe Ayers, 48, retired carpenter of 1200 N. Ross Ave., who was found dead of a gunshot wound on Tuesday at the Cherry Mound Cemetery. Justice of the Peace Robert Sale of Bells rules the death a suicide. Mr. Ayers was born in Grayson County, son of Mr. Douglas M. Ayers and Mrs. Lola Syers Clinton. He attended Sherman public schools and had followed the construction industry in Sherman all of his working life. He was a member of the North Park Baptist Church. Survivors are his father and mother of Sherman; sons, Jerry Dean Ayers of Birmingham, Alabama; David Lynn Ayers of Gaston, Alabana; Joe Kevin Ayers and Jeffrey Scott Ayers, both of Sherman; sister, Mrs. T. E. Gay of Sherman; 4 grandchildren. Pallbearers were F.L. Sloan, S.H. Dickerman, D.W. Sloan, Gene Sloan, Naamon Sloan and David Sloan.
