Denison - Funeral for Carey L. Anderson, 83, of Denison, who died February 27, 1994, at Texoma Medical Center, were held Wednesday afternoon at First Christian Church with Rev. William Davidson officiating.  Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Bratcher Funeral Home.
Anderson was born July 9, 1910 at Ada, Oklahoma, son of LeRoy and Carrie Elizabeth Anderson.  He was a graduate of Denison High School and the University of Texas.  He married Geraldine Thompson, June 9, 1936 at Eudora, Arkansas.
He was owner of The Denison Press and served in the Navy during World War II.  He was a member of the First Christian Church where he was an elder and past board chairman, Denison Lions Club and the American Legion.  He was former director of the American Bank of Denison.
Anderson, a member of the Boy Scouts of America, entered Scouting in 1927 as a member of the First Christian Church troop.  He was presented the Silver Beaver in 1959.  He served as Scoutmaster before continuing to district committee work.
Survivors include his wife; a brother, Louis Anderson, of Corpus Christi; and 2 sisters, Martha Braswell of Waco and Carrie Belle Jones of Washington, D.C.
Pallbearers were Jack Harriss, Douglas Bush, O.W. Davis, Walt Butterwalt, Don Riddle, and Ed Burleson.
