Tom Bean, Texas - Services for Mary Nell Allen, 65-year-old Tom Bean resident, were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Apri 16, 1998, in Grace Lutheran Church in Denison.  She died Monday, April 13, 1998 at Wilson N. Jones Regional Health System in Sherman.  Pastor Michael Mattil officiated, with burial in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.  Flesher Funeral Home in Howe was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Allen was born on November 30, 1932, in Indian Gap, Texas, the daughter of Otto Zeiss and Minnie Meyer Zeiss.  She attended high school at Hale Center, Texas.  She married Richard Arlen Allen on June 6, 1951, in Plainview, Texas.  Mrs. Allen was a housewife and owned the Allen Greenhouse in Tom Bean at one time.  She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Denison.
Pallbearers were SPC. Mike Bartee, Andy Bartee, Justin Mann, Michael Jennings, David Ellis, Steve Case, Daryl Spraberry and Buddy Jones.
Survivors are...Arlene Allen and wife, Sandra, of Durant, Oklahoma; three daughters, Cheryl Bartee of Lewisville, Kay Warren and husband Joe of Crowley, and Lori Byers and husband, James Robert of Howe; two sisters, Norman Lively of Olton, Texas and Ann Haston of San Angelo; two brothers, Alvin Zeiss of Enid, Oklahoma and Herman Zeiss of San Angelo; 9 grandchildren, Miek Bartee of Germany, Andy Bartee of Lewisville, tanya Jennings of Houstone, Justin Mann of Crowley, Angie Mann of Dallas, Johnathon Earnheart and Courtney Thompson, both of Durant, and Marsh and Jamie Byers, both of Howe; and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Bethany, Shania, Amanda, Steven, Alexia and Shelby.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Richard Arlen Allen.
Memorials may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church, Municipal Building Fund, or the Library Fund at Tom Bean, Texas.

Tom Bean - Services for Richard Arlen Allen, 66-year-old Tom Bean resident, who died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at Wilson N. Jones Regional Health System in Sherman were held Wedneday April 8, 1998, at Grace Lutheran Church in Denison with Pastor Michael Matill officiating.  Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park with the VFW conducting graveside rites.  Flesher Funeral Home of Howe had charge of arrangements.
Mr. Allen was born on January 26, 1932 in Burkburnett, Texas, the son of Arthur A. Allen and Hazel Smith Allen.  He graduated from Hale Center High School in Hale Center, Texas, and attended Grayson County College.  He married Mary Zeiss on June 6, 1951, in Plainview, Texas.
He was a retired Air Force Master Sergeant and a retired postal worker.  He attended Grace Lutheran Church.  He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2772 and the American Legion Post #376.
Pallbearers were Pat Lovera, Larry Jones, J.C. Boles, David Shields, Daryl Spraberry, Buddy Jones and Arlen Allen.  Honorary pallbearers were Robert E. Taylor, Athel Jack Garner, Bub Hill, Burger Sneed and Shannon Moore.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Allen of Tom Bean; three daughters, Cheryl Bartee of Lewisville, Kay Warren and her husband, Joe of Crowley, and Lori Byers and her husband, James Robert of Howe; son and daughter-in-law, Arlen and Sandra Allen of Durant, Oklahoma; sisters, Arlene Holliman of Jacksboro, Edna Bottoms and Emma Lou Stanley, both of Webb City, Missouri; grandchildren, Mike Bartee of Germany, Andy Bartee of Lewisville, Tonya Jennings of Houston, Justin Mann of Crowley, Angie Mann of Dallas, Jonathan Earnhart and Courtney Thompson, both of  Durant, Oklahoma and Marsha and Jamie Byers of Howe; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Bethany, Shania, Amanda, Steven, Alexis and Shelby.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or the donor's choice.
