SHERMAN - Marlyn L. "Andy" Anderson was born September 12, 1940 in Harvey, North Dakota to Lawrence L. Anderson and Myrtle P. (Grina) Anderson and went to his Heavenly home Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from his residence with his family at his side.
Mr. Anderson served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964 and was an Airman First Class, and was discharged in 1966. Andy married Margaret L. (Margie) McBryde on August 23, 1969 in Richardson, Texas and moved to Juneau, Alaska in 1970. He served as an original member of the Juneau Crime Line task force and a volunteer firefighter for the Douglas, Alaska Volunteer Fire Department for 14 years. He had served on the Board of Directors of the Downtown Juneau Business Association.
Mr. Anderson was a U.S. Postal carrier for the City of Mesquite and the city and borough of Juneau. He was partner/owner of Lyle's Hardware & Furniture in Juneau. He worked on the Golden North Salmon Derby Prize Team and with the Juneau Chamber of Commerce to re-write Juneau's sign ordinance. Andy was a member of the Rain Country Fly Fishers. He retired from his furniture/hardware business in 1994 and moved to Sherman in 1997. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and recent restoration of a 1928 Ford Model "A" Coupe.
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Anderson was held Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Faith Church with Rev. Charles E. Glass officiating and Associate pastor Caleb Dupuis assisting. Interment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Cles Troxtell, Dean Allison, Kenneth McBryde, Gary Mannisto, Darrell Richerson, Wes McBryde, Drew McBryde, and Ben Bond serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Seth Brown, Adam Cernero, Karl Mielke, Donald Good, and Robert Lies. 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in "Andy's" honor to Home Hospice 505 W. Center St., Sherman, Texas 75090.
Services were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
