Andy was born in Ashton, Wisconsin to Clarence and Stella Sime Anderson. He passed away in Sherman, Texas.
He was a graduate of East Lansing High Scholl, Michigan and attended Michigan State College.
On April 29 1942, he joined the Army Air Force and served his country 28 years until his retirement.
On August 1, 1948 he married Dorothy H, Wriggelworth at Bolling Field, Washington, D.C. They were blessed with four children.
He was a highly decorated fighter pilot, serving in World II in North Africa, China and Italy. His decorations include the Silver Star as well as multiple Distinguished Flying Crosses and Air Force Commendation Medals. He is listed as an Air Force Ace of World War II with six victory credits. In Korea, Andy flew fighter jet missions off the carrier Valley Forge as a guest pilot for the U.S. Navy.
Andy was squadron commander at Perrin Air Force Base, Sherman from 1962 until 1965 and returned to the Sherman-Denison area where he retired from the Air Force in 1969.
He was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church and the Daedalians.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Reo Anderson; sister, Jean Liveway; sister, Cleone Titmus; and daughter, Mary Jo Rider.
Left to cherish his memories, he was survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; sons, Thomas W. and Steve C. and James D. Anderson; his daughters-in-law, Linda and Leslie Anderson; and his grandchildren, Eric T., Julia L., Kelsey L., Kyle J. and Kendall L. Anderson.
Graveside services with Military Honors were accorded at the Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Rev. Neill Morgan of Covenant Presbyterian Church officiating.  Funeral under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home, Sherman.


Sherman - Dorothy W. Anderson, 96, of Sherman passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ.
Funeral services were scheduled for Thursday afternoon, October 16, 2014 in Dannel Chapel.  Rev. Denise Odom of Convenant Presbyterian Church officiated.  Interment followed in Cedarlawn Memorial Park immediately afterward.
Dorothy was born April 18, 1918 in Cohoctah, Michigan, daughter of Birt Wriggelsworth and Reine Holcombe Wriggelsworth.  She was a graduate of Lansing High School and attended Michigan State College.  She married Wyman D. "Andy" Anderson, then a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, in Washington, D.C. on August 1, 1948.  Dorothy first lived in Sherman from 1962 through 1965 when Andy was a squadron commander at Perrin Air Force Base, and returned to the Sherman-Denison area when Andy retired from the Air Force in 1969.  She was a receptionish at JC Penney for over 20 years until her retirement.  She was a member of PEO - Chapter DI, Covenant Presbyterian Church and the Home Hospice of Grayson County Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Hugh E. and Richard A. Wriggelsworth; her husband; and daughter, Mary Jo Rider.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas W., Steven C., and Jim D. Anderson; daughter-in-law, Linda L. Anderson; and grandchildren, Eric T., Julia L., Kelsey L., Kyle J., and Kendall L. Anderson.
