Established 1948   Benjamin V. Acoba 21 March 1966 - 29 November 1981  Sherman Democrat December 2, 1981 pg B17 Services for Benjamin "Benji" V. Acoba, of 1421 N. Wharton, 15-year-old S&S High School student who died in a Sunday one-car accident near Pottsboro, were held Thursday morning in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. John Fowler officiated and services were directed by Johnson-Moore Funeral Home of Denison. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Steven Baula of Sherman; father, Benjamin V. Acoba, of California; brother, Vincent Acoba, of Sherman; stepbrothers, Christopher Baula and Steven Baula, both of Hawaii; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Felino Arellano of Lathrop, California; and Vicente Acoba of French Camp, California. Pallbearers were Jimmy Crow, Craig Pate, Vincent Acoba, Rodney Webb, Ken Pettit and Jeff Salaz. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. in Johnson-Moore Chapel.
