W. T. Shaw Dies At Family Home

W. T. Shaw, 76, died at the family home east of Van Alstyne Thursday night.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Friday at the Cannon cemetery with the Rev. Mr. Starr conducting. Interment directed by
Yoder undertakers.

Mr. Shaw was born in Calhoun county, Alabama, May 28, 1857, coming to Grayson count in 1888. He was married in 1879 to Miss Liddy McKerley, who survives him. Early in life he joined the Methodist church.

Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Evans and Jim Shaw, both of Van Alstyne.

Mrs. Lydie Jane Shaw, 77, died at the home of her son, J. C. Shaw, at Tom Bean early Monday.  Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Cannon cemetery with the Rev. G. E. Camster conducting and burial directed by Fox-Fanning.

The deceased was born Sept. 28, 1860 in Cherokee county, Ala., and came to Texas 48 years ago, locating at Anna.

She was married to W. T. Shaw in 1879 in Alabama. She was a member of the Cannon Methodist church for 45 years.

Surviving are two sons, J. C. Shaw of Tom Bean and Evans Shaw of Van Alstyne; a sister, Mrs. Victoria Shaw,  Van Alstyne; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
