Bobby Gerald Bennett passed away December 27, 2006 in Stephenville, Texas.  He was born October 19, 1937 in Wichita Falls, Texas to L.A. (Dick) and Thelma (Tyner) Bennett.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Bennett; and one sister, Doris Stephens.
He is survived by his brother, Ronald Bennett of Westminister, Texas; sisters, Wanda Rheay of Plano, Texas; Virginia Hood of Fairview, Texas; Brenda Rogers of Brenham, Texas; and Hazel Bennett of Rosenberg, Texas; daughters, Leigh Ann and Shannon Bennett of Haltom City, Texas; sons, Benny Bennett of Haltom City, Texas and Robbie Bennett of Dallas.
He attended Van Alstyne schools and served in the United States Navy.
His ashes will be buried at the Cannon Cemetery, next to his parents.

Services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Flesher Funeral Home chapel for Lenville A. (Dick) Bennett, 66, who died March 4, 1977,
in a Sherman hospital.

Burial was in Cannon cemetery with Grady Lankford, Church of Christ minister, officiating.
Mr. Bennett was born in Texas Jan. 19, 1911, the son of John H. and the late Josie Bennett.  He was a retired carpenter and a member of the First Christian church in Van Alstyne. He married Thelma Tyner May 30, 1931, at Lawton, Okla.
Survivors include his wife of the home in Van Alstyne; his father, John Henry Bennett of Dallas; five daughters, Mrs. Wanda Rheay
of Duluth, Ga., Mrs. Virginia Hood of McKinney, and Mrs. Brenda Rogers and Miss Hazel Bennett of Van Alstyne; three sons, Bobby Bennett of Queen City, Lenville John Bennett of Van Alstyne and Ronald Lee Bennett of Westminister; one brother, Robert W. Bennett of Garland, 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

THELMA BENNETT

Van Alstyne - Thelma Lee Bennett, 79-year-old Van Alstyne homemaker, died Tuesday at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman.  Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Flesher Funeral Home Chapel.  Norman Ewell will officiate, with burial in Cannon Cemetery.
Mrs. Bennett was born in Brinkman, Okla., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Tyner.  She married L.A. Bennett May 30, 1931, in Lawton, Okla.
She was a member of the Van Alstyne Church of Christ.
Surviving are daughters, Doris Stephens and Virginia Hood, both of McKinney, Wanda Rheay of Dallas, Brenda Rogers Campbell
of Brenham and Hazel Bennett of Richmond; sons, Bobby G. Bennett of Van Alstyne and Ronald Bennett of Westminster; 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today, and times at the family residence, 109 Rigsby, in Van Alstyne.
