Funeral services were held today at 2 p.m. at the Cannon Baptist church for J. V. McKinney, age 68, who died Wednesday night at 7:55 o'clock at his home, one mile north of Cannon, with the Rev. Henry Gray of Honey Grove, and the Rev. Chumbly of Howe officiating.  Interment was in the Cannon cemetery with Fox-Fanning of Van Alstyne in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McKinney was a member of the Pilot Grove Baptist church.  His wife, who he married in 1892 as Miss Mollie Caraway, preceded him in death 11 years ago.

Survivors include: his children, Mrs. Earl Burkett of Tom Bean; Mrs. Cordie Sloan of Anna; Mrs. Grover Hardin of Tom Bean; Mrs. Roy Shelton of Anna; W.T. McKinney of Van Alstyne; R.E. McKinney of McKinney; R.H. McKinney of Whitewright; M.D. McKinney of Van Alstyne; D.C. McKinney of Sherman; Mrs. Otis Williams of Sherman, and Mrs. Porter Crockett of Clinton, Missouri.

Funeral services for Mrs. J. B. McKinney, who died last Saturday, were held at the Rose Hill Baptist church Sunday afternoon.  Mrs. McKinney was a member of the Caraway family, well known and highly respected people of this section, and was well known and highly regarded by a large circle of friends.  Interment was had at the Cannon cemetery following the funeral service.

The family and relatives have the sympathy of all of the people in this community because of Mrs. McKinney's death.

We hope to have further reference to Mrs. McKinney in the next issue of The Leader.
