  Mamie Duke Barnes 1895 - 1978 Van Alstyne Leader October 12, 1978 Page 6 Services for Mrs. Mamie Duke Barnes, 83, of Sherman, retired employee of Pool Manufacturing Co., who died Friday at a Sherman hospital, were held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Flesher Funeral Home at Van Alstyne, conducted by Rev. Scott Jordan of the First Baptist Church of Van Alstyne. Burial was at Cannon Cemetery. Mrs. Barnes was born in Grayson County, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Duke and was a Baptist. Surviving are her sons, Thomas L. Spencer of Lake Texoma and W. H. Spencer, Sr., of Sherman; brother Martin F. Duke of Van Alstyne; sister Mrs. Ola Duke Bolton of Sherman; half-sisters, Willie Duke Heatherly of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Bonnie Duke Mullens of San Diego, Calif, and Mrs. Anna Duke Cole of Tucson, Ariz., nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
