The Lord called our princess, Emilia Grace Gunnels, 21, of Sherman, to her heavenly home Monday, March 23, 2020.
From the day of her birth, February 27, 1999 in Bloomington, Illinois, she had been a source of great joy to her parents, Michael and Irene Shea Gunnels.  She was home schooled through high school, graduating in 2017.  She attended Grayson County College and worked at Federal Express over the past year and a half.  Emilia had a strong faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.  She was creative, passionate, determined, generous and a bit eccentric.  She shared a deep love with her family and was a loyal friend.  She had a tender heart towards the care of animals and owned many guinea pigs during her life.  She had a talented eye towards photography.  Emilia was also in the midst of writing a book.  She had many hobbies, including Disney and Amusement park history, Nintendo (especially Star Fox), Anime, and especially collecting shoes.
Emilia leaves behind her parents; brothers, Nathaniel, Lucas and Isaac Gunnels; sisters, Lillian, Agnes and Miriam Gunnels; great-grandfather, Donald Pomeroy; grandmother, Marilyn Adams and husband, Roger; grandparents, Thomas and Ann Shea; and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Michael Dale Gunnels.
A private graveside service for Emilia was held at Calvary Cemetery with Father Mocio officiating.  There was no rosary or visitation due to the Coronavirus.  A celebration of her life was held Saturday morning, May 23, 2020 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.  Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Denison, Texas. - - - Fisher Funeral Home
