Mrs. John E. Neff, 77, widow of a former Denison restaurant operator, died at her home, 122 W. Murray Thursday, January 8, after 9 months of illness.
Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Monsgr. Thomas Zachry officiating.  Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Johnson-Moore Funeral Directors in charge.
Mrs. Neff was born in Carroll, Iowa, June 3, 1881, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dophied. She attended school in Iowa and later in Muenster, where she moved with her family at an early age.  She was married November 2, 1904 to John E. Neff.  They lived in Sherman for several years and operated a restaurant there before moving to Denison.  She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors are 4 sons, Edgar, Henry, Jessie and John H., all of Denison; 3 daughters, Mrs. Catherine Crow, Big Springs; Mrs. Elizabeth Inman, Sherman; and Mrs. Helen Herd, Denison; 2 brothers, Joe Dophied and Jack Dophied; 2 sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Creed of Ft. Worth, and Mrs. Agnes Linsteadt, Denison; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
