"Boone" Dowd, 74, were held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church Sunday, March 1 at 9 a.m. with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Thomas Zachry officiating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Johnson-Moore Funeral directors in charge. Mr. Boone died in the Katy Employees Hospital Thursday, Febraury 27, after several years of illness. He had been in the hospital 7 and a half months. Mr. Dowd was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana August 25, 1883, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dowd. He came to Denison when a small child. His father was a Katy engineer and was killed in a train wreck December 4, 1890. He attended St. Xavier's Academy. He was a coppersmith for the Katy and retired in 1936. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church and the Coppersmith Union. He is survived by 2 brothers, Harry E. Dowd and Clyde Dowd, both of Denison.
