Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Bratcher-Moore chapel for William J. Broll, 82, retired Katy railroad switchman and pioneer resident of Denison, who died suddenly at his home, 101 E. Walker, Sunday night.  The Rev. Joseph Erbrick of St. Patrick's Catholic Church officiated and interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Bratcher-Moore in charge.
Mr. Broll was born in Evansville, Indiana, January 12, 1858.  He came to Denison when a young boy and received his education in Denison schools.  He retired from the Katy in 1937.  He was a member of the Catholic Church and the B. of R.T.
Survivors include four sisters, Miss Carrie Broll, Miss Pauline Broll, Mrs. Mary Meyers, and Mrs. Agnes McCune, all of Denison.
