Louis I. "Lou" Richards, 90, of Denison went to his eternal rest on Tuesday, June 11, 2019.
Lou was born November 23, 1928 in New Orleans, Louisiana.  He was the fifth child of Captain John L. and Imelda West Richards.  Lou married May Panepinto on September 24, 1950 and together they had 6 children: Ardis, Imelda, Louis, Paul, Carmen and Jimmy.
Lou graduated from Martin Berhman High School and enrolled in Tulane University.  He proudly served his country as Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1946 to 1948.  During his life, Lou worked for 30 years at Johns Manville and then as General Manager and Vice President for Lattimore Construction Materials.  Lou served on the Board of Trustees for Denison ISD for 9 years and served 3 years as President of the Board.  Lou's passion for the outdoors also led him to 45 years in ranching.  His love of ranching, hunting, and fishing is something he passed along to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Lou was happiest surrounded by his family of 49 which was his source of pride, strength and joy.
Lou is survived by his wife of 68 years; his children and their spouses, Ardis Jackson and husband, Steve; Imelda Erwin; Louis Richards, Jr; Paul Richards and wife, Debbie; Carmen Ault and husband, Clayton; Jimmy Richards and wife, Darla; his 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Beverly McClosky of Lafayette, Louisiana; and nieces and nephews.
Lou was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and 3 sisters.
The rosary will be recited Friday evening, June 14, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church.  Funeral services for Lou were held at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Saturday noon, June 15, 2019, officiated by Father Stephen Mocio.  Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery.  Pallbearers serving were his 11 grandsons; honorary pallbearer was Mike Perdue.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to St. Patrick Restoration Fund, the Juvenile Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice. - - - Fisher Funeral Home


May Panepinto Richards, 96, of Denison, went to her eternal rest on Monday, October 25, 2021.
May was born July 17, 1925 in New Orleans, Louisiana.  She was the oldest child of Paul and May Hanagriff Panepinto.  May married Lou Richards on September 24, 1950 in Gretna, Louisiana and together they had 6 children: Ardie, Met, Louis, Jr. "Brother", Paul, Carmen and Jimmy.
May was a devout Catholic.  She attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Denison.  She often said, "My faith, family and friends are my world."  She attended Harvey Elementary, Marrero High School and St. Augustine Business College where she studied Business, short-hand and typing.  After 7 years of marriage, Lou and May moved to Denison where they would both live until their deaths.
May was a member of the Denison Service League, St. Patrick Altar Society, Monodrama, Chelsea Park Garden Club, various PTAs, Thursday Review Club and Camp Sandy.  She also served on the Boys & Girls Club Board and for Keep Denison Beautiful.  She loved being surrounded by family and friends, caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing Bridge and attending her birthday "lunch bunch" outings.
Mary is survived by her children and their spouses: Steve and Ardie Jackson; Mel Richards Erwin; Louis Richard, Jr. "Brother", Paul and Debbie Richards, Clayton and Carmen Ault, and Jimmy and Darla Richards; her grandchildren: Jeff Jackson and wife, Melissa; Brian Leavell; Jonathan Jackson and wife, Allison; Hunter Erwin and wife, Kristin; Amy Richards; Paige Jackson and husband, Ben; Jessica Erwin; Ryan Richards and wife, Katie; Trey Richards; Patrick Erwin and wife, Courtney; Abby Richards; Anthony Ault and wife, Jessica; Kyle Richards and wife, Whitney; Thomas Ault and wife, Megan; Paul Richards, Jr.; Ellen Richards and her 17 great-grandchildren (plus one on the way), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
May was preceded by her husband; parents; sister, Marjorie Panepinto Treadaway; and infant grandson, Nicholas D. Erwin.
Funeral Mass for Mrs. Richards was held Saturday morning, October 30, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Stephen Mocio officiating.  Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving included Jeff Jackson, Brian Leavell, Jonathan Jackson, Hunter Erwin, Ryan Richards, Trey Richards, Patrick Erwin, Anthony Ault, Kyle Richards, Thomas Ault, and Paul Richards, Jr.
