RAILROAD ITEMS
E.F. McCune, local freight agent of the M.K. & T., died Saturday at Tucson, Arizona, where he went with his wife to benefit his health.  The deceased had been in poor health for some time, but at last succcumbed to white plague - tuberculosis.  No death that has occurred in railway circles for many years will cause more genuine regret.  He not only stood high in the confidence and esteem of the company, but the employees were deeply attached to him.  He has resided in Denison for the past 15 years and all of that period in the employ of the company in whose livery he died.  He has filled a number of positions of trust - clerk in the transportation office, assistant chief dispatcher and freight agent.  He was a member of the Catholic Church, also a local Elk.
He leaves a wife and 2 children, 2 brothers and a sister.  He died a martyr to duty, and sacrificed his health and life in its faithful performance.  At the time of death he was 34 years of age
.

The remains of E.F. McCune, local freight for the Katy, who died in Tucson, Arizona, arrived in Denison Wednesday morning on the Katy Flyer.  They were accompanied by the widow, W.H. McCune, a brother and Miss Pauline Broll, a sister of Mrs. McCune, who met the party at San Antonio.  A delegation of Elks met the body at the station.  The remains were taken to the residence of C. Broll, No. 101 E. Walker Street.
