The Denison Press Friday, February 27, 1959 pg. 4 Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's Catholic church Thursday, February 12, for F.M. Ely, 82, of 425 E. Woodard. Msgr. Thomas Zachry officiate and interment was in Calvary Cemetery. Bratcher Funeral Home was in charge. Mr. Ely was a Southern Pacific section foreman. He died in a local hospital Tuesday, February 10 after a long illness. He had lived in Denison 36 years. He was born in Campti, Louisiana, January 11, 1877, son of Mr. and Mrs. Valcour Ely. He was married April 4, 1902 to Alice Lebrun in Campti. They lived in Ferris, Texas before moving to Denison. He was a member of St. Patrick's church and the Knights of Columbus. Sirvivors include a son, Charles S. Ely, San Antonio; 5 daughters, Miss Alice Ely, Denison; Mrs. Herbert Staton, Wilmington, California; Mrs. Roy Bird, Magnolia, Arkansas; Mrs. R.C. Schwalbe, Ennis; and Mrs. Curtis C. Clinton, Iowa; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  Alice E. Ely 24 January 1913 - 4 March 2003
