John A. Champion

DEATH ROLL

Funeral services for John A. Champion, who died Sunday afternoon at his home, 814 W. Owing, were conducted Tuesday from the St. Joseph church, with Rev. Martin Mulcahy officiating.  Interment was at Calvary.  Rosary services were conducted Monday evening at the chapel.
Born June 16, 1874, in Springfield, Kentucky, he came to Texas as a boy with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bennett Champion and has resided here for 50 years.  He was operator of a cafe.
Surviving are 2 sons: Jack of the Air Corp and Dr. Jess Champion of the Navy, both in forgeign service.
Also surviving is a brother, Charles of Ft. Worth; and 4 sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Kemp of Pueblo, Colorado; Mrs. J.E. Carrice of Azuan, California; and Misses Rose and Prudence Champion of Denison.
