J.C. Brogdon Dies Suddenly

John C. Brogdon dropped dead at the supper table Wednesday evening.  While he had been in delicate health for some time, no one expected the end to come so soon or so tragically, and it was a severe shock to the family connection and the entire community.
John C. Brogdon was born in the neighborhood where he died September 14, 1877, being 37 years and 16 days at the date of his death.
He married Miss Nettie Holland, December 14, 1895 and is survived by his wife and 3 children, besides his father's family and a number of other relatives in the community where he was born and raised.
Funeral services were conductded at the old Brogdon Cemetery, where he was buried Thursday evening, where he will sleep the sleep who knows no waking or sorrow amidst the sacred dust of his forefathers, and the many friends that have crossed before him until the dawn of that bright day when the earth and the sea shall give up their dead.  He was a good man, and the Times and his many friends extends their keenest sympathies to his bereaved ones.
