  Also known as Independence Springs Cemetery & Ida Cemetery MAP The Blue Creek Settlement is often marked 'Boddie' on maps . Independence Springs CME church is located at 817 Boddie Rd, Sherman, Texas. The cemetery is nearby and reported to be in bad shape. Choctaw Creek is to the East and South of that area and is the main creek that fed that part of Grayson county and often flooded. Deed "C.M.E Church of America. Vol.42 Page 80. Deeded Oct. 8 1878." The parcel of land contained 2 and 1/2 acres. BURIALS Much of this cemetery reconstructed with death records, tombstones, newspapers and other records and personal knowledge.
