June 24, 1887 Taken from H. Tone Mr. Tone was born in the state of New York Aug 31, 1835. His parents had lived in this country about (30) years. Father was a farmer and Mr. Tone was raised on a farm until, when 18 years old, then he removed to Kentucky and taught school and went to college at the same time, as he had to pay his own way. In 1859, Mr. Tone graduated under Horace Mann at Yellow Springs, Ky. [in fact, Ohio]. H. H.
