Sherman, Texas, May 15 -  
"Capt. J.C. Witcher, 86 years old, commander of the United Confederate Veterans, died at his home, 912 East Cherry Street, Sherman, Saturday morning, following an illness of about two months. 
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church in Bells at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon. and burial will be in the cemetery there. The cortege will leave the home at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon and announcement is made that conveyances will be on hand to convey all members of Mildred Lee Camp, United Confederate Veterans, who desire to attend the funeral".
