DIED FROM CANCER
Rev. Wm. M. Carter died Monday last at the home of his son, J.W. Carter, in the west part of the city.  For a year he had been suffering from cancer, which finally caused his death.
Rev. Carter came to Texas from Missouri 27 years ago, and has made one of ou r best citizens.  For many years he was one of our best citizens.  For many years he was an active preacher in the Baptist church, and gave up the work only when age and disease compelled him to.  At his death he was 77 years old.
He leaves six children surviving him.
The body was taken to the family burying ground for interment
