William M. Jenkins was born December 1829 in Wheatley Co., Tennessee, son of Joel Jenkins and Minerva Victoria Etichison.  He married Sarah Catherine Mallicaot, presumably in Missouri about 1858. William was a stock raiser and Confederate veteran.   In 1870 he is found in Grayson County, Texas with a second wife, Nancy Phipps with whom he had four more children - two sons who died within 2 years after their fathers death and two daughters, who survived both parents.  William M.
