James Ellis Caughey, Retired Farmer, Dies
Funeral was held Friday in Barrett Funeral Chapel for James Ellis Caughery, 87, a retired farmer, who died Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bert Sherron, 800 N. Wood.  Rev. Ed Barcus, pastor of Travis St. Methodist Church; Rev. C.J. Graves, pastor of Friendship Methodist Church, and Rev. W. Raymond Corrigan, pastor of Key Memorial Church officiated.  Pallbearers, all grandson, were Maurice Crowder, B.E. Crowder, Harry Caughey, Charles Caughey, B. Bert Sherron, and Doyle Caughey.  Burial was in Akers Cemetery.
Mr. Caughey was a native of Butler County, Kentucky, and son of the late J.W.A. and Elizabeth Heney Caughey.  His late wife was the former Miss Mary Ida Corder of Galiton, Tennessee.  He was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Bert Sherron of Sherman; two sons, Barney Caughey and Earl Caughey, of Sherman; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
