James Richard Turney, 62, of Howe passed away September 24, 2010 at this home. He was born on September 3, 1948 in St. Joseph, Michigan to Sam and Mabel (Klutz) Turney. James served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He worked as a machinist and was a member of the Christian faith. Jim will be forever remembered for his generosity and caring love. He always cherished his family and friends and was eager to tell how proud he was of his children. His memory will live on for eternity in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
James is survived by his children, Sherry Eddy of South Bend, Indiana; Christopher Borland and wife Amy of Denison, James Borland of Houston; and Jessica Price and husband Ephram of Denison; 11 grandchildren; seven siblings, Jan Medders of Denison; David Turney of Niles, Michigan; Debbie Taylor of Berrien Springs, Michigan; Karen Nieghit of Berrien Springs, Michigan; Tommy Dwayne Turney of Benton Harbor, Michigan; Kenneth Turney of Berrien Springs, Michigan; and Dennis Turney of Berrien Springs, Michigan; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his partner, Terry Chavez.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Akers Cemetery in Sherman with Gary Gibbs officiating.
