Ernestine Thompson passed away peacefully on August 16, 2011, in Denison, Texas, surrounded by her family. She fought a long courageous battle with liver desease. She was born December 13, 1928 in Sherman, Texas, to Ernest and Jessie Cole, in a little house in a field which later became Oscar Mayer.
She married young to Charles Thompson and later became mother to Robert Kenneth Thompson, and Lee Edward Thompson.
She and Charles raised their boys in the Grayson county area and later settled in Collinsville. She worked at the Denton State School and later became self- employed as a housekeeper for many homes and businesses until she retired in 1998. She attended church at Collinsville Church of Christ.

Ernestine called Collinsville home until 4 years ago when her illness progressed and she moved closer to family in Denison, Texas. She loved to crochet, sew, cook and just find different things to keep her busy. She loved her kids and grandchildren but something about those great grandchildren delighted her in a way that words cannot explain. You could always bring her a home grown tomato to get a great smile from her. She loved the garden at her granddaughters and husbands home.
