RITES MONDAY FOR H.L. HUDDLESTON, FORMER RESIDENT
Henry Lawrence Huddleston, 92, retired barber, died Saturday afternoon in a Sherman nursing home after an extended illness.  He had been a resident of Howe up until the last few years.
Funeral services were held at Barrett-Hodges Funeral Chapel Monday.  The service was conducted by Rev. Johnny Johnson, pastor of the FIrst United Methodist Church here and Rev. C.J. Graves, pastor of the Friendship Methodist Church.  Burial was in Akers Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Bob Vincent, E.H. Hughes, Truitt Holloway, John Chumbley, Gene Clark and Ray Baker.
Mr. Huddleston had been a resident of this area most all of his life.  He was a member of the Howe First United Methodist Church.  He had been a barber for 68 years.  He was born August 11, 1880 in Tennessee, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Layfette Huddleston.  He was married to Miss Alta Chumbley June 16, 1908 in Kentuckytown.  She preceded  him in death in 1966.
He is survived by one son, Henry Huddleston of Fort Worth; two daughters, Mrs. Josh Vincent and Mrs. Mary Douglas, both of Sherman; one brother, Dow Huddleston of Waxahachie; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
