SHERMAN - Nell Brown, 93, of Sherman, passed away on August 9, 2010, at the Homestead of Denison. Dannel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, at Covenant Church Texoma, with Senior Pastor Kathy Hayes and Campus Pastor James deMelo officiating. Interment will follow in Akers Cemetery.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 11.

Nell was born in Thompsonville in Grayson County on March 30, 1917 to Walter and Era Mason Good. She was educated in the public schools of Thompsonville. She married Francis Brown on June 22, 1935, in Durant, Okla. They had enjoyed more than 59 years of marriage when he passed away September 28, 1994.
Nell was a member of Covenant Church Carrollton and in later years of Covenant Church Texoma. She devoted her life to helping others and exemplifying her strong Christian faith. She will be deeply mourned by her loved ones, but they also rejoice in the knowledge that she is home with her Lord.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband; a son, David Kenneth Brown; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include five sons, Donald Brown and wife Joan of Sherman, Rex Brown and wife Joan of The Colony, Phillip Brown and wife Pam of Irving, Larry Brown and wife Mary of Sherman, Mark Brown and wife Tonja of Sherman; two daughters, Priscilla James and husband Gary of Rowlett, and Patricia Cernero and husband Johnny of Sherman; a brother, T. J. Good and wife Bonnie of Roanoke; and a sister Thelma Bernard of Lewisville; 25 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tim Brown, Rex Brown Jr., Toby Pence, Robbie Brown, Andrew Brown and Christopher Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Julie James, Stacey Lanier, Tabitha Cantu and Jennifer Castillo.
Memorials may be made to Covenant Church, 4100 N. Travis Street, Sherman, Texas 75092, 903-870-0007. Special appreciation is expressed by the family to Heart to Heart Hospice of Texas, 1500 Waters Ridge Drive, Suite 100, Lewisville, Texas 75057.
