Dee Wortham, 92, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Texoma Medical Center.
Mr. Wortham was born February 9, 1922 in Tom Bean, Texas, son of Joseph Kenneth and Addie Lee Hopper Wortham.  Dee joined the Army National Guard at a young age and served for 2 years before he was mobilized into the Army 84th Division during the World War II era.
Dee married the love of his life, Patricia Shoemake, on July 22, 1942 in Durant, Oklahoma.  Mr. Wortham worked for 10 years transferring between the railroad and various construction projects where he operated heavy equipment.  Eventually Dee began working as a car salesman where he excelled and was constantly receiving awards and recognition from his employers.  Dee was a man of faith and attended churches in the area until his health would no longer allow.  Dee was loved immensely by his family.
Mr. Wortham is survived by his wife of 72 years; two sons, Dwayne Wortham and wife, Carol, of Denison; Ted Wortham and wife, Michelle, of Denison; four grandsons, Byron Wortham, Brad Wortham, Turner Wortham and K.C. Wortham; 2 great-grandchildren, Tyler Wortham and Nate Wortham; and one great-great-granddaughter, Coralyn Wortham.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; five sisters; and one grandson, Kyle Wortham.

Patricia "Pat" O'Neil Wortham, 90, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Homestead of Denison.
Mrs. Wortham was born January 12, 1927 in Whitesboro, Texas, daughter of Vera and Prentice "Doc" Shoemake.  She married Dee Wortham July 22, 1942 and they were married for 72 years before his passing in 2014.
Pat worked for Southwestern Bell in the 1960s, Beall's in the 1970s until the fire in December 1989 that destroyed the store, and then J.C. Penney's in Denison before retiring.
Pat was about simplicity.  She loved music and reading but cooking was her passion.  Baking was her way of showing her love.  You always found her in her kitchen, altering a recipe.  Thanksgiving was her favorite time of the year.  She would cook for a week, every type of pie, cake or side you wanted.   She loved her family and the Lord.
Pat and her husband, Dee, were one of the founders of New Beginnings Church in Denison.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Kyle Wortham; and great-grandsons, Jonathan Tyler Wortham and Tyler Dean Wortham.
Graveside services for Mrs. Wortham were held Friday morning, September 22, 2017 at Akers Cemetery in Sherman with Dr. Cherie Fry officiating.  Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Denison. - - - Fisher Funeral Home
