SHERMAN - Thomas N. Wilks, 74, passed away at his home in Sherman on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012.
Visitation will be held from 4 - 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 at Dannel Funeral Home located at 302 S. Walnut Sherman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 in the Dannel Funeral Home chapel.
Officiants will be Robert Dean of Wichita Falls and Jeremy Moore of Community Bible Fellowship, Tom Bean.
Interment will be following services at Akers Cemetery, Sherman.
Grandchildren and great-grandson will be pallbearers.
Thomas was born on May 19, 1938 to Elvin Wilks and Vada Hughes Wilks in Telephone. He was a graduate of Bonham High School.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Thomas married Jackie Cox on July 3, 1958 in Sherman. They were blessed with 54 1/2 years of marriage together.
Thomas was a machinist and worked at Hardwicke Etter, Andrew Korith, Texas Instruments and Raytheon before retirement.
Survivors are his beloved wife, Jackie of Sherman; children, Charles Wilks of Luella, Tommy Wilks and wife Kristi of Howe, Kim Haley and husband Frank of Tom Bean, and Kristal Wilks of Sherman; grandchildren, Chad, Chelsea Wilks of Luella; their mother Cindy Wilks of Howe; Cory, Drew, Trey Hodge of Tom Bean; their father Gregg Hodge of Denison; Chad Haley of San Diego Calif., Kristen Haley of Sherman, Zach, Ty Wilks of Howe, Kiara Wilks; her father, Ronny of Sherman; great-grandson, Cayden Wilks of Luella; very special "adopted son" Billy Coffman of Sherman; brothers, Bobby Wilks of Buckeye, Ariz. and George Wilks of Garland; brother-in-law, Billy Cox of Tom Bean and Tommy Cox of Luella. Also many special nieces, nephews, cousins, many special friends and all their extended families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Fred Wilks, Billy Ray Wilks, and father- and mother-in-law Jack and Audrey Cox.
