Garnet Nichols, Joe Weldon Carr and Jack Everheart are vacationing in Colorado. J.W. and D.C. Gordon appeared on a radio program Sunday night broadcast from a Dallas station. Mrs. W.T. Truett, 67, died at her home here Monday. 30 Years Ago (From The Sun, July 18, 1929) John C. Russell, 81, died at his home south of town last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Moats announce the birth of a daughter on July 7 - Pilot Grove News Manning, Clark & Meador sold a new buggy Tuesday to J.T. Wrenn of the Ely community. J.R. Fleming has purchased the W.O. Brents residence in northwest Whitewright. 25 Years Ago (From The Sun, July 19, 1934) D.M. Mooneyham, 63, died Sunday. The following Whitewright boys are in training at Citizens Military Training Camp at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma: Lloyd B. Biggerstaff Vestal Biggerstaff James R. Hash Marvin C . Holcomb Albert T. Jenkins Grady Langford Thomas L. Sears Albert T. Reeves Jimmie Lewis Carpenter of Trenton and Miss Mabel King of Whitewright were married on July 7. 20 Years Ago (From The Sun, July 20, 1939) Tom Cunningham, Morris Fogle Gillett and David Taylor attended the State FFA convention at Temple this week. Misses Carter Fletcher, Sallye Hamilton and Mary Pumphrey have returned from Denton where they attended summer school. Mrs. J.C. English and Mrs. Claud Dillon honored Mrs. Alton McDowell with a "kid" shower Tuesday evening at the English home. Paul Pierson of Dallas, formerly of Whitewright, and Miss Cordell Layman of Celina were married on July 1.
