35 Years Ago
(From The Sun, July 10, 1924)
Mr. Pascal Binion of Huntsville and Miss May Tate of Desert were married Wednesday.
Rev. and Mrs. W.A. Kirkpatrick  honored their grandchildren, Eva Mae Harp of San Antonio, Dorothy Lee and Joe Billy Killon of Hillsboro and Ralph Kirkpatrick of Whitewright, with a party Monday afternoon.
Paul Cook and Paul Graves have returned from an automobile tour through the western and southwestern portions of the state.

John T . Stillwell, 54, of Cisco formerly of Whitewright, died on July 4.
Mr. and Mrs. John Reeves announce the birth of a son Saturday.
The children of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Burden gave them a surprise dinner Sunday, it being their 32nd wedding anniversary.
Velma Marie Holland, Miss Leila Parrish, Miss Frances Phillips, Miss Ouida Nell Harris, Miss Artie Mae Connelly and Mrs. Floyd Harris were on the Kentuckytown Self Help Club program.

Miss Susie Noe, 65, for 25 years a teacher in the Whitewright Public Schools, died Saturday.
John Reeves and Sidney Watson attended the Rotary Club luncheon at Sherman Tuesday.
Thomas Sears has enrolled in the Citizens Military Training Camp at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.
The Sewing Guild met with Miss Frances Montgomery last Thursday.
The 13th annual American Legion picnic opened Wednesday in Hoard Park.

(From The Sun, July 13, 1939)
After winning  a wager, Johnny James was a passenger Saturday in a little red red wagon which Frank England, loser of the wager, pulled from Whitewright to Denison. They left here about 8:30 a.m. and arrived in Denison at 3:20.
Thomas Gillett's Texaco Station on the "Y" was destroyed by f ire Monday.
The following officers were installed at the Rotary Club luncheon Friday:
C.B. Bryant, Jr., president
Cloy Horton, vice president
Dick Montgomery, secretary
Glen Earnheart, treasurer
Roy Norris, 31, died Saturday.
Frank Thomas of Whitesboro, formerly of Whitewright, died Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gillett announce the birth of a son on July 12.
