  Lyman Umphress Home
Van Alstyne, Texas

Lyman Umphress married Miss Sallie Mae Carter in November 1906.
In 1908 they moved to their newly constructed home on South Waco Street.
The home exhibits elements of the Prairie School, Colonial Revival, and American Foursquare styles of architecture.
The home features a Sullivanesque frieze under the eaves, fluted Doric columns and a stained glass window in the living room.
John Tulloch, architect of Sherman, designed this home.
