Eliza McKinney Milam Home 
Van Alstyne, Texas


This early Texas house was built in 1858 by John Cannon, contractor for Eliza McKinney Milam, daughter of Collin McKinney. 
Eliza's husband, Jefferson Milam, was a surveyor & nephew of Ben Milam who died in the TX Revolution, storming San Antonio in 1835. 
After Jefferson's death, Eliza moved here with her 8 children.
